sound card

Hi all,

I have build a package with some needed vmware kernel module with minimal packages. I am using slackware12.1 on vmware, here how can i check whether the sound is working or not? I dont have GUI mode also, have to install extra packages?

Please help me.

first check the mixer settings with alsamixer for e.g.

Then for e.g

#mp3blaster <filename.mp3>

For the packages part install swaret (or use packagetool for local ones)
