Sound Blaster ZS2 Platinum sound

I stuck in my Sound Blaster card and Slackware 9.1 detected it without a problem. I have checked the alsamixer settings for Digital Output and other common muted channels. Here's the kicker. If I click on say a .mpg twice the second window that loads brings sound with it. I'm using mPlayer for movies. Has anyone else had this occur to them?

Run alsaconf. See if your problem returns.
