SOLVED SORT OF - installing a Dell 926 all in one printer

I have been looking around for info on this and so far it doesn't look good. Dell's site gives nothing. Other Linux forums either say it just won't work or it might work listed as a Lexmark printer (nobody said which one that I could find). Consequently, I come here to the source of all wisdom Slackware and ask the question; has anyone installed this and gotten it to work properly? Any hints will be much appreciated.

it seems that your printer is a re-badged lexmark x3650. on the lexmark site this model is not included in the linux/unix compatibility list. it doesn't seem to appear in the openprinting database either. but i might have missed it. so i don't know if you can use it on linux.

Thanks for the tips guys. Unfortunately, I had found all of that already. If I were to use the printer, it would be to make use of the extra capabilities (all-in-one stuff). That said, I guess Ill pawn it off on some poor Windows user.

I have the same printer, so when you find that windows user, ask him if he has a friend.

The Lexmark X3650 support page has a driver in DEB and RPM in the Linux/Unix tab.
