Software RAID System problem

Hi!

I`ve made software RAID System in Slackware - RAID 1 (mirroring).
Step by step, everything went ok, but at the very end I would like to check if it really works - but how? What should I do to check this?
How can I boot from my 2nd RAID hdd? I`ve allready dod so, but therewas a problem - when I changed BIOS to boot from my 2nd RAID hdd it can`t, there is no LILO on screen, only many "9" digits, like L 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9...
What does it means?

Please, HELP!

Best Regards,
Sushy

It means that a bootloader (lilo) has not been installed properly on that drive... it you want to boot from either drive, the bootloader has to be installed properly on BOTH.

i had to do this to get it to boot

made a raid boot floppy
booted from floppy
edited the lilo.conf and added this line right below boot = /dev/md0
raid-extra-boot = mbr

then run lilo from the command line and made sure it added it
reboot it and remove floppy

heres what that section of mine looks like
Code:
# Start LILO global section
boot = /dev/md0
raid-extra-boot = mbr
awww nm

just saw the date on this post....
