smbmount AND normal user

Hello

I am attempting to mount using the command "smbmount".
Well with root I can mount without problem but, when I try in my normal user, I get this message:

Code:
$ smbmount "\\\\VMWIN2000\vmwin2000" /mnt/vmwin2000/
Password:
smbmnt must be installed suid root for direct user mounts (1000,1000)
smbmnt failed: 1
What do I need to change?

OK But now appear this:

Code:
$ smbmount "\\\\VMWIN2000\vmwin2000" /mnt/vmwin2000/
libsmb based programs must *NOT* be setuid root.
4087: Connection to VMWIN2000 failed
SMB connection failed

Change back your permissions for smbmount:

Code:
chmod -s /usr/bin/smbmount
and change this (smbumount if you want to unmount )

Code:
chmod +s /usr/bin/smbmnt /usr/bin/smbumount
What should be SUID is smbmnt NOT smbmount... it can be confusing. Issue the smbmount command as user for mounting, and it should be good.
