SMB4K on Slack 10.1

I continue to get these errors when running smb4k.

I get this error when I click the check box for "Use super user privileges to mount and unmount shares."

ERROR: Another user is currently editing one of the system files, that Smb4K wants to write to. Please try again later.

Then I this error when I try and add a share.

An error occurred while trying to mount the share.
smbmnt must be installed suid root for direct user mounts (1000,1000)
smbmnt failed: 1

I found another thread that said to use chmod +s smbmnt but I can not find smbmnt when I issue a find or a locate command.

What can I do to resolve these problems?

I know about smbmount and smbumount, they both are in the bin directory, but I still don't know why I'm getting these errors from SMB4K. Is their any information that I can give that will be of more help then what I already have?

Did you compile this or do linuxpackages.net?

Also, I'm assuming you're running as a normal user. If it's trying to use 'su' but can't it could be because you're user doesn't have permissions to use 'su'. Check the file '/etc/sudoers' and it might help you.

I tried both actually, I first installed it from source then I uninstalled it and tried again with the package. Both installs have the same problem.

You assume correctly, I am a normal user, and this user account is able to su into any other account, including root.

This install of slack is a normal full install I haven't edited anything other than the smb.conf file which I edited it exactly how it is edited on my other system.

I am going to try and see if I can add my user account to allow mounting of shares. Thanks for letting me know about the sudoers file.

Yeah but were is it???

I can not locate it anywere on my system. And once I find smbmnt do I use chmod +s smbmnt or do I run some other flag so I can allow my user account to mount the shares?

Yes it's chmod +s
smbmnt should be in /usr/bin/ and IS included in the samba-3.0.14a-i486-1 package
