Slow LibreOffice 4.1.3 in 14.1

Hello all,

I did a fresh install of Slackware 14.1 over the weekend using my existing /home and then installed LibreOffice 4.3.1 from AlienBob's packages. LibreOffice seems much slower now compared to the 4.0.x versions. Its taking a long time for the initial open and saving the progress bar goes all the way to the right then sits there for a long time then finally finishes. The speed is back to the way it used to be, the last couple 4.0.x packages were really fast. I'm wondering what may be different.

Thanks

Sounds like a problem that I and a few others have reported. I ended up reverting to LibreOffice 4.0.5. Here's the thread:

I'm now using slackbuilds.org to build LibreOffice. The version there is 4.1.3.

Did that fix it?

It seems to have fixed the problems I was getting with dialog boxes and forms.

The Slackbuild.org is basically a conversion job from the Libreoffice rpm to a Slackware package so basically one size fits all. Whereas, alienbobs version is compilled specifically for Slackware on a Slackware platform.

I whichever one I use its seems to be slow as compared to 4.0 series and the Slackbuild.org doesn't have that Slackware feel that AlienBobs does!

So I'm not sure where I'm going from here.

Just another thought what hardware are you running on?

Intel i5-750 with 4G RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660.

I'll admit to not having the fastest hardware but it works fine except for a pause when opening or at the end of saving, 4.0.x was fine.
