Hi all,
A question for the networking gurus. I have previously used the ralink rt2500 driver from
http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com, and have gotten good throughput speeds around the 4Gb download and 512Kb upload speeds, which are to be expected given my distance from the local exchange.
With the advent of Slackware 12.2, I have been experimenting with WICD, as this seems the way to go, but it will not work with the rt2500 driver.
I have subsequently disabled that driver, and instead am using the rt2500pci driver that is built into the kernel and this allows WICD to work.
So far, so good. But, with the kernel driver, my throughput speeds drop to less than 512K down and 64K up.
And so to the question. How to get the speeds up with the kernel driver, or how to use the ralink driver with WICD. Either/or will do.
Thanks
