slim pkg from slackbuilds.org

Installed slim from slackbuilds.org everything went well. chmod 755 rc.slim, added those lines to rc.local. I rebooted and slim started up, but I can't login as a user only root. When I login as a user it appears to load, but then restarts slim again. Thinking its a permissions issue? confused I am.

/usr/X11R6/bin/xauth: creating new authority file /home/symatic/.Xauthority
/bin/bash: /home/symatic/.xinitrc: No such file or directory

slim: waiting for X server to shut downFreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

maybe the lack of a .xinitrc could be the problem. root has a .xinitrc why doesn't symatic?

read I will.

got it! never ran xwmconfig which writes .xinitrc. also it is a /bin/sh command not a /bin/bash command. Goodtimes all around..I always forget to read the logs.

thanks john
