Slax 5.1.8 - How to change keyboard layout at command line

Hi,
I've just ran and tested the Slax Live CD and what an excellent live distro it is ! Now by default it gets you into Run level 3 , command line. As I use an English keyboard what command should I use to map correctly. When ever I try to use the "|" charcter I get ">" etc due to incorrect country codes. Is "loadkeys" the answer ?

Thanks !

Uncle

Checkout
Code:

man loadkeys
I for example, use
Code:

loadkeys la-latin1.map
It will load la-latin1.map.gz in /usr/share/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/ and change my layout to a latinamerican one.

Solution

Because this is a popular post when searching for "slax keyboard", "slax change keyboard layout" or similar.
Here is how to change keyboard layout on newer Slax versions:

Code:

setxkbmap se
replace se with your own keyboard code
se, in this case, stands for swedish

Tested on Slax version 9.11.0

You can find the keyboard code in /etc/X11/xkb/rules/base.lst
or from the list here:

Irrelevant necro-posting, great as a first post Noorlatif.
And SLAX is not even based on Slackware anymore, it is a debian derivative nowadays, so please post your feedback on their forum instead of here.
