slapt-update-service doesn't work

Hey guys,

I have a little problem here. I tried installing slapt-update-service to get update notifications in my taskbar.

Compiling it works fine with "make pkg", but after the install and restarting the session, nothing happens. When I run the executable directly, something pops up in the notification area for half a second and that's all.

Am I missing something here? I'm running the latest -current x64.

The sources I used are here:

from the slapt-get website:

Quote:
slapt-update-service places an icon in the user's notification area when updates are available.
is it possible that your system is simply up-to-date?

You probably need to do some manual tweaks to make it work.

1. Make sure "slapt-update-notifier" is run whenever you start your Desktop Enviroment.
2. Add a cronjob that runs "slapt-get --update" every now and then.

It is running now. I forgot to pass "--with-kdesu=yes" to the configure options. Thanks for your help
