Slamd 11 httpd eats all memory

We just got a new machine for our serverpark and we've been using slackware 32 bit but since the new machines are 64 bit we thought we give slamd 11 a try.

The problem is that after a while, the time varies from a couple of hours to a couple of minutes, a single httpd processes start eating up all the memory until the machine swaps itself to death.

We've tried:
Apache 2.0.59 and 2.2.3
PHP 5.1.4 and 5.1.6
APC 3.0.11 and 3.0.12p2

All in different combinations but the problem persists as we tried to rule out what could be causing this.

The same software (including same php-code) is running on a slackware 10.2 box with no trace of errors like these.

Could this be a slamd 11 issue or could someone point me into a direction where I could continue my search for a solution?

I'd gladly accept any suggestions on how to move on,
Joakim
