Just to double check, do you have the xf86-video-s3virge video drivers from [X] package series?

I think the xf86-video-s3virge is pretty old, it gets just a little maintenance (there aren't many of those boards around anymore) so it may have problems on recent X.orgs: I tried it for your same reason (substituted broken graphic card) some months ago (pre-14.0) and it didn't work too (and X has even gone forward since then), even on other distros (I remember to have tried ubuntu).

Ok thanks.I will mark this thread as solved because there's no other options to get this video driver to work.
Maybe i will install Slackware 12 to get this card work properly. It's pretty hard to me to get new card because there are so expensive in my country. The average price for video card in my country is about 100$ us dollars, and my month paycheck is about 140$ us dollars

as a last resource, maybe you can also have a look at "man s3virge", can be some options will let you start X with that driver (haven't tried it at all).

Come on! I.e., with $100 you can buy from Craiova, Romania, an modern entry-level motherboard with GeForce 6100 on-board, with a modern processor and 2GB DDR3 memory! And that city is at max. 200Km of Varna, Bulgaria (and both are on European Union then you can visit Craiova without passport,) then, please, don't be cry-baby about these things, just do a little research... ;)

BTW, looks like you can buy right from Varna, an good Asus EAH5450 Silent/DI/512MD2 with 66.32 LEVA aka $43.89. :)

On-topic. The S3 Virge support is pretty old, but, from my experience, it just works. Also, talking from my experience, the S3 cards misteriously interact badly with some motherboard chipsets. I have an S3 Virge, which I use as emergency card, and it works perfectly, but on some motheboards you cant have nothing beyond text mode.

So, in your case, I suspect an unlucky combination of s3 virge <-> motherboard.
