It's unlikely since it's still Slackware and will be maintained by Pat, Robby, Eric, Pieter and the rest of the team. We don't have 64bit specific subforums for any other distro.

Will there be a Slackware64 subforum here @ linuxquestions.org ?

I shouldn't think so, there aren't {Debian,Fedora,OpenSUSE,Ubuntu} x86_64 forums.

I agree, in fact, I've heard a good number of people say that 64-bit support is the main reason they don't use slackware. So now I think the user base should increase some.

In fact it was the single one left reason not to use Slackware on ALL my machines. At last, I can grow up my mono-culture, now! :)

If nothing much else, I at least got a few very good laughs while I read this entire thread from start to end :) but also, it looks like the proper place to say 'Thank You' to the Slackware team, each and every member/contributor/tester, for their work both up till now, and into the next releases of Slackware, whatever the bit-count. I look forward to the release of Slackware64 on DVD so I can purchase it from the Slackware Store, with a subscription and/or maybe some of whatever goodies are offered that help feed the developer(s) (food, I mean).

(yes, I did post elsewhere about my interest in the 64 bit release, but this thread seems to be the official place for this sentiment)

Sasha!

What a great read... sort of. I certainly got a few laughs out of it. I'm very excited to see slackware64 is finally coming.

I've got a few servers waiting to be rebuilt with Slackware64 ;)
