Slackware64-current + Bumblebee = my brain is bleeding.

ASUS N56VZ
Code:
# lspci | egrep 'VGA|3D'
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107M [GeForce GT 650M] (rev ff)
Code:
$ glinfo
GL_VERSION: 3.0 Mesa 10.2.4
GL_RENDERER: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ivybridge Mobile
GL_VENDOR: Intel Open Source Technology Center
...
Code:
$ primusrun glinfo
GL_VERSION: 3.0 Mesa 10.2.4
GL_RENDERER: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ivybridge Mobile
GL_VENDOR: Intel Open Source Technology Center
...
As you could understand, 'primusrun' does not switches the dGPU, it just does nothing.
How can i understand the reason of the trouble and how can i fix it?

Bumblebee was taken from here ==> https://github.com/whitewolf1776/

This may help

Advanced Setups

For advanced users, if you do not want to use the proprietary nvidia driver or 32-bit libraries (for example, if you are only interested in power savings), you can do your custom installation.

Minimal setup : sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends bumblebee

Depending on your needs, add to this line:

bumblebee-nvidia: proprietary nvidia driver support (if installed, become default over nouveau)

virtualgl: VirtualGL as backend

virtualgl-libs-ia32: 32bit support for VirtualGL on 64bit system, necessary to run 32bit app through optirun

primus: primus/primusrun as backend (virtualgl Stays default, you need to run optirun -b primus <app>)

primus-libs-ia32: 32bit support for primus/primurun on 64bit system, necessary to run 32bit app through optirun

Here's some Slackware-related documentation about the subject:

First, congrats on a fine laptop. I have a very similar one and it works well with bumblebee.

Second, relax, if you installed bumblebee from my repo following either the wiki or the readme, you should be well setup to run most apps that need the nvidia card.

Finally, even when the nvidia card is being used, it is pushing the graphics back through the intel onboard card, that is what optimus is meant to do.

If you want to see the difference, boot up dota2, doom3, portal2, there are a lot of good games that will use the nvidia card well today, and compare the graphics with primusrun vs just run normally... it won't take long to see the diff.

This tech can be a bit confusing at first and, unlike windows, it isn't hidden from the user esp in slackware. In general tho, you can just set primusrun <appname> as the shortcut if it needs the better gpu and you will be fine. Steam has it's own how-to page for it as well.

So, I'm doubtful there is anything to 'fix' here... just some information you may need to absorb. Happy gaming

Maybe you should open your own thread with your specific issues regarding bumblebee, what version of Slackware you're running, and what version of bumblebee you installed. And it's not polite to demand anything in this forum...

Primusrun is more for SLI/CrossFire while Optirun is more for add-on 3D accelerator cards.
