Slackware64 can boot, not Slackware32 [hd-dvr card ?]
Can install & boot Slackware-64 13.37 [kde displays ok!!]
Tried to install slackware-32 13.37 "A" only
display blanks & system locks after HD-dvr is displayed in boot msg
Before on install of Absolutelinux [media enhanced slackware-32]
----------------------------------------------------------
Got 13.2.2 to run ok on e1000h (intel onboard gpu), then install to amd system with on aboard ati.
On boot of both machines, after 1st page, changes to different graphic mode e100h boots ok, but
the amd/ati box blacks-out/locks hard (hardware reset). Amd box has Win7-64 and a fedora spin.
After first boot/lock, mounted from fedora/spin and changed inittab to start in term mode=3.
Still locked when going to different graphics mode?? Now down loading 13.3.7, had slackware64-13.1 in that slice.
*************NEXT***************
Tried absolute 13.3.7 iso on the amd/ati box, still lockup when screen changed mode.
[last line i see is the TV-Prom is being loaded, may copy some of the firmware fedora part. ]
then installed slackware-64 13.3.7, no emacs or games installed. boot ok even with
graphics change?? then did startx Even [index-mad] KDE started up nice.
Like Ice-wm and the media extras on absolute.
Will re-install absolute and try to debug the logs. from a fedora spin-system.

I have an HVR-1250 TV capture card in my office system. Although installations always work without problems, I never have been able to boot the installed system with the huge kernel. Before I reboot after installing, I have to black list the cx23885 kernel module. I then can boot into the system with the huge kernel so I can build my own kernel. Thereafter I can stop black listing the cx23885 module and use the card.
The problem is not specifically with Slackware, although I wish the huge kernel did not have that module built in. I have seen this same behavior with other distros, such as parted magic.
Use the installation CD/DVD to boot into your system. Then open /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf with a text editor and add the following:
blacklist cx23885
Save and reboot.
Then build your own kernel or use the generic kernel with an initrd.
