Slackware64 and ncurses
Hi, I just installed Slackware64 updated to June, 2nd from this site: ftp://ftp.slackware.no/pub/linux/ISO...ent-ISO-build/.
I noticed that Slackware64 doens't have ncurses, so I got the official slackbuild and I compiled it. After the installation of that package, pkgtool shows a corrupt graphic in the margins of the window. Even uninstalling ncurses, pkgtool still remains corrupt. Now I can understand because Slackware has ncurses, but Slackware64 doesn't have. Is there a way to use ncurses without corrupting pkgtool? Ncurses are pretty important, furthermore the clear shell command is part of ncurses. Thanks, Scorpion77 |
If you do not have ncurses after installing Slackware64 then you did not install a full slackware64. The ncurses package is located in slackware64-current/slackware64/l/ncurses-5.7-x86_64-2.txz .
I have never experienced display corruption in pkgtool and have not seen bug reports by other people either. Where did you get your copy of slackware64-current? Eric |

So I have mistaken to install my package thinking ncurses is not part of Slackware64. I'll try to reinstall Slackware64 to be sure pkgtool doen't have corrupt graphic. I get my copy of Slackware64 here: ftp://ftp.slackware.no/pub/linux/ISO...ent-ISO-build/ like written in my first post. Scorpion77 |

the Slackware64 sources from an official website to your computer, then make either CDs and/or a DVD. That's what I did to get official Slackware64 -current. There are NO OFFICIAL ISO images for any Slackware* -current. The ncurses pkg is on that mirror, so they just messed up building the ISO: Code:
