N.B. do NOT do that to your Slackware partition (leave it default) or your system won't boot.
Ah, there it is! So my root partition has to stay in default. No wonder why I can't get it to work. Well, I guess I'll just leave that one be then. BTW I got it up and running again with Slax, thanks.
Still, I just found it really odd that I couldn't open my root partition in X after I installed 12.0. Thought it had to be fstab, because modifying group didn't help. Well, I found out in the last hour that I can just get there by entering / in the address field in konqueror anyway, so no big deal.
Regarding not being able to access the root partition through KDE, this has been sorted earlier in this thread.

Success!!
Thanks Todders for your suggestion about the kernel/initrd change;
After changing to the vmlinuz-generic-smp-2.6.21.5-smp kernel and generating an initrd.gz (as referenced from /boot/README.initrd), then editing /etc/lilo.conf to reflect these new changes and running lilo -v; the system works a treat!!
(The Slackware partition in now 'Clickable' and is read-only as user, and read-write as root).
When I try to access the partition where the system is installed it says:
I also can't mount the CD-ROM it displays the same message (in KDE) but when i try to mount it manually it says that the CD-ROM option is not in my FSTAB.
Any idea how to mount the cd-rom?
I have succes with this steps,
edit /etc/group, and then put in you username into group : plugdev, video, audio, dan power, the most important group is plugdev, another group is optional,after finishing edit your /etc/group, you must reload: /etc/rc.d/rc.messagebus reload
If no success then restart your computer (in my case, i must restart my computer for success).
