slackware vnc and zenwalk

Hi there!

I'm trying to access my father's computer through my home using vnc!

The pc using vncserver is zenwalk and i'm using slackware.

I can "ping" from my home but when i do vncviewer ip it gives

main: unable to connect to host: Connection refused (111)

I'm behind a router and my father's pc is connected directly to the modem

P.S: I can acces to the directories using - fish://ze@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:22/home/ze in dolphin filemanager

I open port 22

Thx a lot
EddY

Did you try "vncviewer xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1"? On a Linux computer, the VNC server will open a new socket so that the local X server can start independently (and runs on port :0). A VNC server will be listening on port :1 .

Yes. The X desktop and the vncserver desktop are completely separate.
On the machine that runs the vncserver, check the ~/.vnc/xstartup script, that is where that windowmanager desktop is started.
This is my own (tightvnc) xstartup script, it will run XFCE for you:
Code:
#!/bin/sh

# Slackware Linux VNC session startup script

unset SESSION_MANAGER
exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
