According to http://www.slackware.com/changelog/stable.php?cpu=i386, Slackware has not been updated since Dec 19th last year. I know for example that Firefox has been upgraded from 3.5.6->3.5.7 since then, but nothing about this in the changelog for Slackware. Anyone who knows if Pat is too busy right now, or does he not deem any upgrades, should there be any more than the mentioned Firefox upgrade, worth including right now?!

Firefox 3.5.7 did not address security issues. No further security fixes are available for Slackware 13.0 and therefore, 19 december 2009 was the last update. Remember that updates to the stable releases of Slackware only happen when critical security leaks need to be fixed. All "normal" software updates are only applied to slackware-current.

I guess I see some improvement in 720p flash videos, but I "only" have a G105M GPU though. I haven't checked out the

Er - Ok that's all a bit confusing. I thought I had the latest nvidia driver : NVIDIA-Linux-x86-190.53-pkg1.run,
but Olaus is running 195.30, and his link leads me to NVIDIA-Linux-x86-195.30-pkg1.run, which if one goes according
to number convention, would seem to be something newer/better/? .... or am I wrong here.

BTW - the link says the release date was 2009/12/31, and it is marked as beta. The file size is about 31 mb,
whereas the current (non-beta) is about 24 mb.

No, you are running the latest STABLE driver, which I think is ok, if you don't wanna try new, maybe not so stable functions (like the so-called flawless flash hd video). Nvidia's number conversion... yeah, I don't know how they decided upon that...

You do that, and please tell us all about any improvements that you find, especially if you also try the flash beta.

I'm not really interested in flash at all - I don't do u-tube. But my son is keen to get dual-screen working again. That seems to have stopped and we're not sure if it's the new xorg, KDE or something else. So the beta is 6 mbytes bigger - one would hope they fixed a lot more than just flash video ;-)
