Slackware on VMware Workstation

Hello, I'm new here. I'm trying to install Slackware on VMware 10, but it doesn't boot. I downloaded the .iso version Slack 14.1 DVD full iso.
So when I set it to start on VMware, it doesn't boot. It can't find the system to install. So what am I doing wrong?
The BIOS is set to start booting on CD.
This could be related becasue of the new version of WMware? In addition the VMware doesn't recognize which Linux distro the iso is.

Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Andres

Tell VMWare that it's a linux distribution on a 3.x kernel.

Did you download the DVD Installation or DVD Source ISO?

What, exactly, are you doing?

If I remember correctly, you cannot boot from the installation wizard to the slackware iso image. You configure your vm as I had mentioned above and choose the option that you'll install the OS on your own.

So slackware will not boot from the iso? I should create an empty Linux 3.x kernel and then install the OS on my own? There is a guide for it? or how I do it?

VMWare won't boot it from the install wizard. A virtual machine will boot from the iso image just fine.

Vmware works fine with Slackware ISOs. I'm using VMware workstation 10 to boot many Slackware VMs here and it's working fine

Could you please copy/paste the error message or tell us the last line you see? Just to be on the safe side...

Have you checked the checksum for the ISO and make sure it's not corrupted?

Don't have a machine with VMware 10 available right now, but I am sure that 9 is close enough...

1. Click Create a New Virtual Machine
2. Select 'I will install the operating system later'
3. Select Linux
4. As mentioned above select 'Other Linux 3.X.X kernel' if you have the 64 bit ISO make sure to select the 64-bit here
5. Name you VM and tell it where to put it
6. Set the size of the virtual drive
7. Select Customize Hardware
8. Select the CD/DVD and tell it to use the ISO that you downloaded
9. Click close
10. Finish
