Dont know too much about macs but I've heard this distro works:

http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/

As far as Slackware I've run it on a lot of various machines with no problems, but never a mac
you might check:

www.slackware.com

And ask. They have always been very helpful.

Good luck.

There was an unofficial port to the PPC architecture, Slackintosh, but it seems to have fallen by the wayside (I believe the maintainer of the port became too busy to continue working on it). This question did pop up on alt.os.slackware.linux recently, see the following thread for more information: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...ad3e9d38a97b5a

No there is no workable Slackware version for PPC machines.

There is quite a few Linux distribution for PPC. Check out http://www.penguinppc.org/ that is where most of the Linux distribution for PPC is "monitored".

If you are a Slackware user, I would recomend you CRUX PPC; it has two version. One is just minimal installation, the other the called it evolution a fatter distribution.

If you don't mind trying out *BSD. I recomend NetBSD.
