Question Slackware on HP EliteBook 2540p

Are there any other Slacker's running Slackware on an HP EliteBook 2540p?

There is one irritating non-issue that I have with it. The mute button stays amber all the time while and the other lights are illuminated in turquoise. The mute button still functions but seeing that one amber light is irritating.

Example: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1574277/2012...2014.47.01.jpg

Everything works perfectly with a stock install of -current.

Thanks!

Forgot to add that when I run a Live DVD like Sabayon, Maegia or Mint, the mute button is not amber?

So, what is the issue exactly? That it always stays that way, even if you press it? Or that it starts up muted? Or something else?

I have a 8530w, and it works fine for me, so I don't really know. However, what I do know is that the state of the mute button is not connected to the sound actually being muted, as it does not control the sound, but the integrated speakers (it would start to mute the sound as well after a suspend though).
So, indeed, unmuting or muting the sound via software (kmix, etc) would not state the button status. However, if you really press the button itself, it should. If not, check whether you have the hp_wmi kernel module loaded. That might help.
