Once you choose you repos and package managers you can also grab QTGZManager, an utility which helps you to manage/organize/(re)discover your software collection. Take a look at: qtgzmanager.wordpress.com

To get a list of the mirrors just
"nano /etc/slackpkg/mirrors"
remove the remark # from the front of the one you want to use.

then do a "slackpkg update"
next do a "slackpkg upgrade-all"
to install a package "slackpkg install conky"

I have used conky so many years that I had forgotten where or how it came from,
"that was just an example for him to use for what ever he chooses"

Since Conky is not part of the Slackware repo this won't work .

You'll need sbopkg (mentioned in post #2), to get conky (and/or anything else) from slackbuilds.org.
