Hi,

I do appreciate the comments!

I just got back from a long weekend holiday with the family. No computers and the cel phones were limited access. Great time for everyone!

I'll try an put a little more time into the authoring of the pages. Just a matter of time allotment. Animals to take care of first. Also maintenance on the property, horses do get upset and tend to kick out rails on the fence. I think some deer got into the pastures thus causing a problem for the horses. Thus more work.

I spend at least 30-40 minutes too answer the posts and edit the;
Slackware LQ Suggestions! post. I try an do this at least every 3 days.

My hopes are that the time spent will help everyone, myself included.

Some people are now including the ' Slackware LQ Suggestions!' link in their sig.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Edit: grammar

I still have some work to do on the original post.

Two more possible things to add are:

C programming FAQ (for beginners). Really very useful if you start learning C. These are the most common problems and issues ... and the respective solutions. I think it's very useful. (I'm learning C, and it was very useful for me )
http://c-faq.com/index.html

C and C++ programming language documentation and library reference. Kinda like python.org, only it's for C and C++. Again, very useful.

Hi,

I've added the links. Good references.

I'm getting close to the 25,000 character limit for a LQ post. I think the comments will need to be trimmed. I will set a limit of 200 links. That way I can get back to work on my pages. Then reference a link to my pages.

My reference links bookmark folder has grown. I need to get some organization for that. Just another thing to add to the 'ToDo'.

My hope is that the 'Slackware LQ Suggestions!' has helped the user's.

Hi,

I've added the Slackware 12.0 RC1 links. Also unofficial iso Slackware 12 rc1 links.

Also trimming to allow future links.

Hi,

The 'Slackware LQ Suggestions!' has reached 200 links. The post to reference is post #81 'Slackware LQ Suggestions!'.

I will continue to monitor & edit the post. I now plan to finish my pages that will contain all the links posted. This will also allow me to expand on the links and information. Allow better formatting with better control for me.

This task has grown into a good tool and I hope that has helped the Linux Slackware community.

To all the 'Linux Slackers', thanks for your assistance!

Hi,

Note: See current complete List

I have a few things I would like to suggest to users overall.
A lot of the reference is in my sig but I would like to highlight a little more.

Why not use the Linux Counter? This is a way to track the Linux community and provide a means of knowing what is being used. I would suggest that a Linux user to use the Linux counter. So get counted!

A lot of users, be a newbie or experienced user needs to start using the LQ search. A lot of the posted questions are not unique, so Find Your LQ Answer.

Most people really don't know how to present the problem they are having.
I would suggest that you read the How to Ask Questions the Smart Way.

We have a lot of good online reference available to us. A few good guides to look at are Linux Command Guide or Linux Newbie Admin Guide

I have included my online reference list for Slackware and Linux in general. I would like to append more but LQ limits the signature. If you have any that you would like to include in this post then please do! I'm planning a web site that will be primarily Slackware support. Please use the LQ ordered list format if possible for multiples.

<snip> see code in sig

I know the post has a redundant list but I'm not going to spend time to adjust. I think this will be a great service to the Slackware Community when completed.

Any good constructive suggestions are welcome.

Edit: To add to the combined link list of the first post;

06-20-07 updated

Edit note; I have compiled and organized the links. Any suggestions welcome!
<snip> to allow more space, refer sig code.

Hi,

I've reached 203 links! I need to finish my pages since LQ limits the post too 25,000 characters. I would have to revamp the post to extend the links. A lot of work.

Best choice would be the web pages. Too bad about the limit since the post on LQ would serve everyone better.

I'll see what I can do!

Hi,

Links are now at 205. I'm trimming the comments and structure so as to add a few more links.

Edit: I added another slackware-current mirror to lessen the load. If you use Eric's 'mirror-slackware-current.sh' you can select other mirrors;

from Eric's script;

Good rsync mirrors are:
#
# rsync.osuosl.org::slackware/slackware-current
# slackware.mirrors.tds.net::slackware/slackware-current
# rsync.scarlet.be::slackware/slackware-current
# rsync.slackware.at::slackware/slackware-current
# rsync.slackware.no::slackware/slackware-current
# mirrors.tuxq.com::slackware/slackware-current
# mirror.vbfx.com::slackware/slackware-current
#
He has commented the script very well!

Hi,

I'm trimming the comments from links that should be self explanatory. This is to allow more links to be included in the post #1.

Still working on my Slackware pages. I think Nvu is OK but still has a lot of bugs and problems. I've been looking at the Nvu forum lately.

I'll start using Quanta+ very soon. My basket is overflowing now. I'm slowly catching up, a lot of physical down time. My wife says to take it easy. So I've been setting in front of the computer an taking all those dam drugs. Legally!
