THANK YOU for the info! I knew something was wrong/changed, but haven't had the time to look into it. Perhaps calling it a bug was premature, as it is functioning as designed . The end result is the same....those of us using ATI cards with the proprietary drivers can't do much with this until AMD updates their drivers. I find myself wishing yet again there was an alternative to their drivers...

There is an alternative. The free radeon drivers (installed by default) work flawlessly at least on my HD6870. I have problems on my laptop with HD3200, but I have an open bug report about this, where I receive help from one of the developers.
