what file is this please?

Vincent_Vega 01-26-2004 08:40 AM

that's a text output of your kernel compile choices - your .config file. You'll have to recompile using those options shown, you know what I mean?

Now I have a problem of my own...using the 2.6.1 kernel my touchpad doesn't have the tap function and it's a little bit too sensitive. Just lifting my finger from it causes it to move a little more than normal in any direction.
Can someone help me on this?

Re my problem with the touch pad, im not at all sure what you mean..

what file do i need to edit?
why do i need to re-compile the kernel to correct this problem?

superbondbond 01-26-2004 09:37 AM

The text posted is from the XF86Config.
(It's not the kernel config file. You don't need to re-compile)
Therefore, you need to edit /etc/X11/XF86Config.

Vincent_Vega 01-26-2004 10:40 AM

oops, I didn't even read the stuff, just assumed after reading so many kernel compile posts! sorry!!!!!!!

kasperhans 01-27-2004 03:37 PM

no that file is just a part of my XF86Config located in /etc/X11/ just edit it and your touch pad as well as your usb mouse will work fine under X :=)

Hi - its not that simple though. I edited this file and my whole x windows has stopped working now.

kasperhans 01-28-2004 06:36 PM

then please post the failure message it shows you when you try to startx now and as well as i mentioned before dont just copy the one from me you have to change the drivers and so on for your graphic card it was just for getting started so post the error message x gives you !
