thanks to you i was able to at lest get to the file but it turns out that they are all acurropt. well my freind should bring kde on a disk soon(i still on 56k)

me too..., hope you have a "real" modem and not a winmodem, or you'll have problems with linux.
I thought in the US noone used dail-up modems any more.
It would be a good idea to start a poll on what type of internet connection people use (if there isn't any poll doing this).

i have one of thoses cards(forgot what they were called) for my laptop. i'm not even sure if it has an eathernet cabel so eather way i am screwed on iternet.

it is not built in and it is not a win modem(not to my knowledge) it is a pc card modem made by compusa. very generic.
