brain dead today
where are the slackware ISOs
went to the site
went to download sites
cant find the 600+ k isos for burning

You can use the torrents. Here is one mirror that has the ISOs and there are others, but I'm not going through all of them looking!

the idea here is to know what you are doing,
and do most everything by hand?

Actually Slackware is a good distribution to learn with. You can use the cli and become familiar with the system. You need to read a lot of mans or references to get to a point of comfort. But the time spent gives rewards!

Technically if you're not doing GUI (or at least, not doing KDE/Gnome), you don't even need Disk 2
