Slackware Installation, using download files

I did the minimum installation (base linux option) by using boot disk, rootdisk, and a CD with files from A package. After installation and reboot, it ends up at "grub>"
Now I am trying to add X windows option, I downloaded files under X folder, then put it in the CD. But when I run setup, I do not see X option, it still shows "base linux" option only.
What do I need to do to add X window?, KDE Linux loader? I do not have the CD with ISO files, I have all the package files, Is it possible to burn these files to image CD?

Is 'grub>' an error or is that how grub's supposed to work? I mean, if you can't get to a login prompt, nothing's going to work. But if you get through the boot prompt and login, then you can install X. (This is going from ZipSlack experiences, hoping it's not too different.)

I'm not sure I fully understand what's going on. If you have a Windows box you downloaded the 'a' files and bootdisks to, then made the disks and burned the 'a' stuff to CD and installed from that, you can do something similar with the 'x' packages. Or, since Slackware should be able to read and write FAT and read NTFS, you could just download them to your hard drive. (Assuming a dual-boot and not two separate computers.) But yeah, sure - just burn them to CD, login to Slack's console. Mount it and do 'cd /mnt/wherever', cd to the 'x' directory and then 'installpkg *.tgz'. (I'm pretty sure - might have to do them one at a time, but I think you can wildcard it.) Then you can try 'startx' and if it doesn't work, you'll have to edit /etc/XF86Config.

I found the instructions for making an ISO cd from the Slack download files here - www.openbsddiary/makeiso.html The instructions are aimed at doing the download and making the cd in Windows (which is what I did) but it will also work in Linux. The main thing is it gives you the directory tree and shows you what goes where.

You will need the cdrtools utility as well. Theres a link on the page.
