That is true, I installed lilo to the root and not to the MBR. I was unsure of which one to install it too, but root sounded good. I am trying to do what you said and change the lilo config files. It is sort of difficult because I am not used to all the commands. So I am going to give this another 30min and if I can't figure it out, I'll reformat and reinstall! Haha, whatever works right? But thank you both for your help, and I'll let you know how it goes.
