Slackware File server

Hello!

So, i want to make a small linux (slackware) file server, just to access it from my work (School), sometimes i forget my pen drive and is a pain in the a..

I've read some stuff and what worries me is security.

I'm behind a router because i have 2 pc's in my office, one is to be the small file server and the other is my working computer. I wanna centralize my files in the server.

My question is: What is the best way to have my files 100% secure and accessing them from my work?
The files are not very important but i don't want anybody snooping around my stuff!

I think i'm explained myself well!

Thx for your help!

I think all you need to do is set-up ssh on the server, running as a daemon.

Yes, you've explained your situation -- but not quite so clearly *how* you want the suggested solutions.

I agree with Fionnbharr on this one.
SSH is easy and as secure as you can get.

On the server side, just start sshd.
On the client side, just type in dolphin:
Code:
fish://username@your_server_ip_address/some_dir
You'll be prompted for the password of "username", of course.
Assuming that "username" has appropriate permissions on "/some_dir" in your server, then all is well

Hello!

Thank you and I understood. Of all How-to I read (i think) none of them focused this aspect, so I decided to ask the slackers!

Thanks for your help!
Cheers
