Slackware DVD Image

Hey,

firstoff, I did search the forums for an answer. I got a few hits, but dunno what to do with the script someone attached.

Code:
Instead of burning the 4 isos I would suggest getting the entire source (I personally use rsync) and follow the instructions below.

Fully updated rsync and ftp mirror:
rsync.slackware.at
ftp.slackware.at

If you allready have all 4 isos mount them in a loop, cp them all to a common dir/ and then use this script.
Either way will do.

A good friend of mine shared this script with me. I stripped all but one variable out. Edit to fit your needs. I did!

$ cd /to/top/level/slackware-10.0/dir

#----------snip----------
#!/bin/sh

DATE=`date`

mkisofs -o /path/to/resulting/slackware-10.0.dvd.iso \
-R -J -V "Slackware-10.0 DVD" \
-hide-rr-moved \
-v -d -N -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table \
-sort isolinux/iso.sort \
-b isolinux/isolinux.bin \
-c isolinux/isolinux.boot \
-p "Slackware 10.0 build - NOT OFFICIAL" \
-P "Slackware 10.0 build - NOT OFFICIAL" \
-A "Slackware 10.0 DVD - build $DATE" .

echo "Slackware-10.0 dvd iso complete."

#----------snip----------

Burn to dvd.
This is the script. Now i'm still not sure what to do with it and where. Is this supposed to be runned under Slackware or Windows? And also could someone tell me what is the rsync mirror for? I guess to syncronise smthn.

Sofar i've downloaded the current folder. What now?

Thanks for all your help. Im a newb trying to conquer linux world.

Regards,

Slycer

This script is for use with linux, I don't think you will be able to do anything with it if you downloaded the stuff to windows. Rsync is just a file downloading utility.

I came across this link a few moments before seeing your post.

http://www.slackware.no/ appear to offer a DVD build of Slackware 10.0 (although their server was busy when I tried to get to it, perhaps you'll have more luck?)
