Slackware current, KDE 4.5.5 desktop upside down?

i just updated my slackware to current, and every time i try to log in in my kde session my desktop is upside down!! i mean literally everything is upside down, the only way i can have a usable desktop is with the "fail-safe session" of kde option on kdm which is what i'm using right now.
does anybody know how can i solve this?
i would post a snapshot of the upside down desktop but i can't do anything when i'm using it. fonts, windows, panels, icons everything is upside down...

OK.. i solved this, just reinstalled the nvidia drivers and everything is goood again

Upside down desktop and nouveau

Hi,

I was trying to install the nouveau drivers for my system, and when I first tested the (kde) desktop I found that all the graphics were inverted. With X still running I logged in from another machine and discovered, using lsof, that a couple of the shared object libraries employed were provided by nvidia. So I then set about replacing them with the equivalent libraries from xorg. The main replacement was libGL.so (I am now using libGL.so.1.2.0).

After tidying up the libraries the graphics were fixed and I was able to run glxgears successfully. So now I have a working open source system to support my geforce 9500gt graphics card.

The problem with the proprietary install seems to be that it knocks out some of the open source graphics libraries. These libraries must be replaced before the nouveau drivers (as supplied in kernel 3.7.9 and xorg) will work properly. Otherwise there is a conflict between the different libraries not serving one another as expected.

Your post is not Slackware related, I do not see a real question in there, and you are posting to a years-old thread. Don't do this again please.

Hi Eric,

I suspect that the original problem was coincidental to Slackware. In any case, I apologise if it was unclear that I was trying to help others who might visit this thread.

What I was trying to do was provide a solution to a problem that does not involve the installation of proprietary drivers (those, in this case, provided by nvidia). Do you know of a place to provide such a solution for people who experience the inverted graphics problem? If so, then I should add my message there.

There are some links to this location that people have made on other forums, but I am not a member of those forums.
