Slackware can't load youtube.com

Youtube (or any Google product) is impossible to access on Slackware. Actually I can connect when I am logged into an unsecured wifi; When I am with my family that has secured wifi, I can't. I don't know this happens, but poor web design breaks many sites because they use google's ajax and I can't access anything operated by google. I don't use google to search or anything like that.

Youtube and other sites that use google stuff should be usable, but they aren't because I can't connect to them.

In case it matters I am using NetworkManager. I have tried with two different wifi adapters.

The title of your post "Slackware can't load youtube.com" is misleading.

I use Slackware, and using a WiFi connection secured through WPA (TKIP+AES) I have no problem accessing youtube.com.

Try accessing Googles services with a proxy like hidemyass.com first (the free service is down at the bottom).

Does it work? Also, is google.com pingable?

google is pingable (suprisingly). Using https://sslsecureproxy.com/ works for connecting to the youtube homepage, but I really shouldn't need a proxy for it to work.

I have no issues with Slackware or any Google product on either of my Slackware machines. Whatever the problem is, it is local to your installation or your internet connection.

Try a traceroute to YouTube or Google to see where the connection is failing.

Code:
traceroute [some domain|ip address]
See

Code:
man traceroute
for more.

How can you seriously specify Slackware and Google in this? Slackware has the same basic kernel as all Linux no matter what distro. If this is actually an operating system problem (which I sincerely doubt beyond the sites heavily dependent on Flash) it affects ALL Linux. Google builds sites with the same code and tools as everyone else so how (and why would they want to or allow) can only Google sites be inaccessible? It is confusing as to whether you are able to connect to anything or not since how can a networking adapter of any kind access only certain sites and not others?

Please, if you truly want assistance, try to be more specific in both your questions and your pertinent information.

Please check your computer clock. If it is not accurate google & co would refuse to work due to some certificate errors.

No there is no filter.

I don't know if my system clock is behind, but how do make it the right time?

Well, just type in "date" on the command line to see what date/time your system thinks that it is. You can use the same "date" command to set the date and time. (You should consider running ntpd if you have 24/7 access to the internet.)

It could be that the IP range you are connecting from is on a blacklist?
Can you give more detail of how your access is not working? Do you get errors in your browser?
What happens in a terminal if you type
Code:
links https://youtube.com/
is the behaviour of links different from your X based browser (apart from the fact that links won't display youtube video's). And does this show anything?
Code:
lynx -dump https://youtube.com/

I have ntpd running. It was one of the services I have selected to load at start-up during slackware's install.

@alienbob: I can't seem to get to the youtube homepage either using a text browser.

If I were to use one of my family member's winblows computers, I would be able to get on youtube.
