actually, slackware 10.1 is on gcc 3.3.4... slackware current is currently on gcc 3.3.5, AFAIK...

but either way, if you take a look in the testing directory of 10.1 or current you'll find packages for gcc 3.4.3...

i seriously doubt any slackware packages will be built with gcc 4.x until it's spent a good amount of time in the testing directory...

For a one man show he is doing an excellent job, and for the past few months he is not well to considering all this, he is doing an exceptional job, and u can always upgrade the softwares or install new ones if u want to

Of those, only slack/390 is official. The rest are unoffical ports, thus not his responsibility, and he gives no guarrantee on them.

Maybe you should run --current? Hes updated 3 time in the past 2 days. It has KDE 3.4.1. That sounds pretty current and not out of date.

well you could say debian hasn't had a release in forever. Or like FC, mandrake, Suse... and crank out releases (crappy releases) that don't work, slow and crash. I prefer to compile what works. Would you buy a car that can go 200mph but will only start 50% of the time? I'll take a truck that gets the job done.
