Slackware and t410 with i7
I've finally upgraded my T22 to something a little more modern and somewhat faster.I'm extremely hesitant to install linux on this T410 as I have no knowledge of linux performance or compatibility with the i7-620m cpu. There are no linux drivers/downloads for this laptop on the Lenovo sight either.Does that mean what may be obvious to some but that I just can not accept...that this laptop is better served with Windows7?I will not use any linux distro but Slackware.
Anyone have any experience? |

If you already own it, go for it :)
Here's a link about Linux experiences and that Laptop http://forum.notebookreview.com/leno...410-linux.html Thinkwiki is a good source for Thinkpads http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:T410 The Nvidia graphics might have some minor issues. http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...ight=NVS+3100M If it does not work to your satisfaction, I'll trade you my Dell Latitude D830 (100% working out of the box) even-steven :D |
Thanks to both of you for the links!
Thanks for the offer, that's a nice laptop you have but I'm kind of partial to this little T410 now. ;) |
