Slackware and phpBB2
I was just wondering if anyone has experience installing phpBB2 on a Slackware server. I get the following message when trying to install.
"The PHP configuration on your server doesn't support the database type that you chose" From what I have read in other forums, this means that I need to have extensions=mysql.so uncommented in the php.ini file. I do infact have this line uncommented, but still no luck. If anyone has any experience installing phpBB2 in Slackware help would be appreciated. Thanks |
"The PHP configuration on your server doesn't support the database type that you chose" And what type of database did you choose? Mysql sure ? Have you mysql package installed, mysql server configured ?

Yes it's MySQL 4
php 4.3.7 I am serving up web php web pages here is my php info, and I have created the database I want to use for my board. I'm at a loss as to what is wrong. I was just curious if LNO'ers have had success in installing phpBB in Slackware. |
Does the user have rights to the database ?
phpbb is a little bloted.. write your own forum.. i do :) |
I'm sure it's a security issue but I am using root as the user of the database. I'll create another user and give it try.
