Slackware and Dell PowerEdge 2300

I am trying to install Slackware Linux 10.1 onto a Dell PowerEdge 2300 with RAID. When I insert the install CD and choose the raid.s kernel I can access the RAID Array with no problems, but I can not access my SCSI Cdrom. When I boot the system with the adaptec.i kernel I can access my cdrom but not the RAID array. Could anyone point me in the right direction as to how I need to go about installing Slackware on this machine. I can build a custom kernel on another Slackware box, but am not sure how to setup it up so it will do the install properly once I put the kernel on a floppy. Please help.

Disclaimer: I never used RAID before.

For SCSI CDROM to work you need to compile in SCSI CDROM support under Device Driver --> SCSI device support.

For Raid to work you need, Multiple devices driver support (Raid and LVM).

I am reffering to 2.6.* kernel.

Also, for SCSI cdrom, the device you access is /dev/sr0.

Hi,
