Slackware 9 Help

i have some experience with RedHat but not that much. i need help setting up the network card adn internet access with my dsl provider. i run to a cayman dsl router/modem that handels all the windows machines in my house. i was able to setup RedHat 7.2 to access the internet, but i have misplaced that computer, so i can not look up the settings.

Also, when i start KDE i get a message that KNotify has crashed. This isn't a problem, but it keeps repeating the message when i close it, and opens a new message until i close them all. It just sits there and constantly opens the same message as long as KDE is running. Is there anyway that i can turn KNotify off, or take care of the problem?

Thanks
