Slackware 8.1 rc3

I just downloaded the two rc3 iso images from ftp.eunet.be/pub/linux/slackware/slakware dated 6/11/2002 and tried to install them but when I tried to select the menu of packages to install, something caused numerous shifts (an endless loop) to be sent to the installation program. Has anyone loaded RC3 successfully? I see there is a new version dated 6/12 so I will try that but was just curious if anyone has rc3 installed.
Thanks,
Charlie

I would wait for official release of 8.1. Won't be much longer, I'm hoping!

I had to get a system up and running really quick and couldn't wait so I installed RC-3.

I made the iso's myself and they worked normally. Read the README in isolinux if you want to figure out how to make your own iso's. The directories you need to download to do it are the slackware, kernel, and isolinux from the slackware-current tree.

Well, I don't have a burner. the FAQ on the slackware homepage instructs you how to install from a loop-device and with loadlin. That works well for slackware 8.0, but not for slackware-current.
I downloaded slackware-current/slackware/* on a separate partition.
in the dir slakware of 8.0 there are dirs a1, .. (the 'boot-disks').
in slackware-current the last digit 1 is gone, and also inspection of a bootdisk reveals much differences with the bootdisks of 8.0
setup, pkgtool, installpkg refuse for slackware-current, also no nice upgrade for me....:-(
Anyone an idea how to do this upgrade from 8.0 (or a fresh install, what I prefer anyway) without a burning a cdrom?
