i'd guess you've not got the cdrom set as a boot device in your bios.

Many machines seem to have a problem with the new boot system on 8.1. I can recommend two choices: 1) boot floppies, it takes 6 disks. 2) Try Smart Boot Manager, http://btmgr.sourceforge.net, install to a floppy disk and boot it, then select to boot from the CD. My preference is the later. Smart Boot manager has worked most excellent and is the easiest. It is also a nice item to have in your toolbox utilities.

Good luck

so will that be the case in slackware next in vir 9.0 cous that would realy suck i never had problem wit the slackware iso b4 ...fist time it wont it wont boot?!

I do not think anybody would really know until the new version is released. The slackware-current tree does not include any iso images to base any response on. I have not read the README.TXT file in isolinux of the current tree to know if it has been modified for the beta version.

well u being a respected moderater may could write slackware and alert them to this iso bug that cuzing some much problems i dont know just i thoght

Well, I am not any kind of a moderator here in the forum and I am just a long time slack user. But I have sent them an email message and even recommended perhaps considering including a 1.44 image of the Smart Boot disk manager on the install CD if the problem appears to be compatibility issue.
