Slackware 8.1
 

Hi.

Does anybody know when Slackware 8.1 (final) is going to be released? I love this distro and would really like it, having a 8.1 final as distro on my PC :) If it lasts too long i will have to install 8.1 rc2 it think.

Unless you get involved in the Slack development, your guess is as good as anyone elses really. This is the first time I've seen going through Changelogs that Patrick has even bothered to do Release candidates. He's started hacking through a lot of the confuration goop more than upgrading packages and there's quite a bit of bugfixing going on as well. Under-educated guess: Any day/week now. Really, not LONG.

Thats's why i asked. I don't want to install rc2 if there would be a final version available only a few days after ;)
