I have a problem with KMS and Slackware
My video card is ATI HD6670
Slackware stock generic kernel 3.2.29
in lilo i disable all vga,because i cant boot,i have a problem with KMS
When all vga's disabled and boot Slackware my fonts is large,then radeon driver activating KMS and i have a small console fonts,but when i type xorgsetup i;ve got this

But in xfce
dmesg | grep modeset
[drm] radeon defaulting to kernel modesetting.

Usually you don't need to run xorgsetup, it should work out of the box. What happens if you just startx?

There's no problem with startx ,the problem is that error,i know that i don't need xorg.conf for kms

If 'startx' works, what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

well, I have slackware64-14.0RC5 but with kernel 3.5.4 and with internal video card ATI RS780L [Radeon HD 3000]. I don't have this problem.

tuxbg, the problem is just with xorgsetup? So don't use xorgsetup. It's pretty useless anyway, especially for you as you say 'startx' works just fine.

Ok but is strange that i cant generate xorg.conf,anyway i'm very happy with that Slackware release,it's very stable,like usual.
