Slackware 14 init4 issue
Hello guys, so my monthly data allowance refreshed yesterday and i was straight into downloading the new Slackware 14 iso.
I've installed it onto my laptop, but i've a small issue. When i boot into the default runlevel 3, and startx into kde, everything works fine. I like to boot to the gui by default though, so i've changed /etc/inittab to runlevel 4. It boots to kdm, i login and i'm confronted with errors. First it fails to detect my speakers, and also i can't enable opengl composting. All these things work fine when i startx from runlevel3 though. What do i need to do to fix this? Thank you. |
What groups is your user a member of? You'll probably need to be a member of the audio and video groups. You can find out by running:
Code:
groups <username> |
Thanks heaps mate, that was it!
