Slackware 14 - DHCP Client Issue?

The following is some goo from /var/messages

For some reason on a cold or warm boot, DHCP attempts to get an address from the DHCP server, but fails. I can then log in as root and issue /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 and it works getting an address

Never had any issues on the same hardware for 13.37 or current (before 14.0).

Can somebody help?

Zack

When dhcpcd first runs, eth0 isn't up yet. The interface isn't up for several more seconds, so by the time you log in and re-run dhcpcd, eth0 is up and can get an address.

That's what's going on, but I'm not sure how to fix it, I haven't really used Slackware for years, sorry. Maybe put in a "sleep 30" line into your /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 file right above the line running dhcpcd?

I had a smilar problem with Slack 12.2, and then again this time with Slack 14.

I add this to my '/etc/rc.d/rc.local' file:

rm /var/run/dhcpcd-wlan0.pid
sleep 2
/sbin/dhcpcd wlan0
