Slackware 14.1 - xbacklight does not work with mesa drivers

Hello, xbacklight is not working with mesa 3d drivers, more specifically ati drivers. I can manually set the brightness using the /sys/class/acpi_video0 device. However xbacklight returns "No outputs have backlight property".

Another issue, xfce-power-manager does not decrease the backlight by itself.
It may be related with the xbacklight issue.

Suggestions?

While xbacklight is not working fort me either (which doesn't matter, since Slackware now supports my Fn brightness keys) I have no problem at all with xfce4-power-manager, it sets the brightness as intended. I would recommend to file a bug against your issues, the AMD driver developers are helpful and react fast to bug reports.
