I have been seeding it since the release day or so, as I did for the last couple/few versions, and after re-upgrading to 14.1 on my desktop (next, after finally solving problems I had on it and my laptop, surely of my own fault, because I finally got 14.1 working fine on my laptop) I aim to leave it seeded continuously until I have downloaded the next version's torrent.
|
I downloaded the torrent http://www.slackware.com/torrents/sl...ce-dvd.torrent, then ran:
$ ctorrent slackware-14.1-source-dvd.torrent The iso downloaded fine but that was the end of it, I thought it would then start seeding but instead I got the message: TRACKER FAILURE REASON: Your client's "key" paramater and the key we have for you in our database do not match. and TRACKER FAILURE REASON: requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker So I quit and then re-ran the command but it ended up the same. I've never really used torrents before and googling didn't throw much up. |
It's the same with rtorrent:
'Requested download is not authorised for use with this tracker' Googling implies to me that only certain clients are authorised to track some torrents. |
No problem here with Transmission (running headless on a VPS), so maybe try that.

Seeding now. |
Just realized that I hit the 1TB mark this night for all my Slackware seeds, seeding the DVDs from 14.0 and 14.1. The fun fact is that this seed box only runs since 84 days ago.
Now let anyone tell you that Slackware is dead. |
No, I'm back now to not seeding. Transmission just ceased uploading for some reason, got to about 61gb then stopped. The daemon was running, the torrent was running, just nothing going up. Tried re-installing but no joy.
Switched back to rtorrent and went back to the 'not authorised' message. Switched to ctorrent (the newer one from eric), same message. Definitely looking for cli only as running twm. |
You can try to run Deluge as server, it has a headless mode also.
Just checked, my Transmission daemon is still seeding, now at 625GB for 14.1. |

Hi,
Thread Are we there, yet? seems to show some interest that a new release is not to far off. I would like to take this opportunity to suggest that once a rc is made available then we must help Slackware sites by starting to reseed again. A new release would be dependent on the state of necessary changes/feedback. So a gentle reminder that we should be prepared to start reseeding once the candidate is released. Have fun & enjoy! :hattip: |
