Slackware 14.1 Firefox displays black jpg's

I've noticed now that Firefox (24?) in Slackware 14.1 will display a black box for very large .jps's on web pages. I can sometimes see the .jpg start to render then switch to solid black. Anyone else seen this?

Maybe you could give us an example page? I can't say I've noticed it.

I get this rather often with previous versions of Firefox. This happens mostly (if not exclusively) when the image is larger than the visible area in Firefox and Firefox rescales (zooms out) the image.

In this case I switch to Opera for affected pages. However, the development of Opera stopped indefinitely after version 12.16.

Looks like it may be a known issue with X as posted here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ml#post5074158

I'm going to try it and see. I've noticed if I exit X and restart the issues goers away for a week or so. I've also found issues outside of Firefox, for example opening Dolphin (KDE WM) in a small window then maximizing the border will maximize but nothing else.
