Just a matter of setting up an xorg.conf file with your preferred resolutions. I'm running 1280x1024 with the default radeon driver and can run higher. It depends on your card and your monitor.

Yes, thats the full log file.
I see a non blinking cursor in the top left corner on the sreen, nothing more happens. I can't open a new console, ctrl + alt + del dosen't work, and the reboot had to be made using cutting the power.
I'm enterring in teh runn level 3 and the X system is started using the startx command under normal user (not root).

Have you confirmed that the machine is completely locked up by trying to remotely access it from another system?

Yes that is confirmed.
Yesterday i tested the newlly released ATI 9.10 and the result was the same.
Non-blinking cursor at the top left of the screen.
The log was the same log posted previously.
I don't know what else can i do.
